Bangalore - The Garden City of India Bangalore,
the capital city of Karnataka, is often referred as the Garden city of
India.The capital city is the main administrative, cultural, commercial
and industrial centre of Karnataka state. Bangalore has several premier
institutions of learning and research of the country. Apart the city is
also home to the high-tech industries such as Aerospace, Electronics,
Computers etc. Bangalore accounts for 35 per cent of India's software
exports and is called as the 'Silicon Valley of India'. Bangalore boasts
of many structures of historic and architectural importance. The city
houses some of the oldest and most beautiful temples of the country. The
clean and spacious city abounds in beautiful parks and gardens and other

The tourists come to explore the tourist attractions around the city, among the famous attractions include : Bangalore Palace The summer palace was built by Wodeyar king, in the year 1887. Built in the Tudor style, the palace is constructed mostly of wood and known for its impressive carving and paintings. The gallery inside the palace is a major attraction here, it houses several photos of viceroys, maharajas and other famous personalities. The palace is open every Day between 10.00 am to 6 pm, except SunDays and public holiDays. The entry charges are Rs.100 for adult and Rs. 50 for Children. Lal Bagh Built by Hyder Ali, the garden is one of the important landmark of
Bangalore city. It was named as Lal Bagh for its the wonderfully
bloomed red roses that remain blooming throughout the year. The garden
spreads over an area of 2,400 acres, is home to more than 1,000
species of flora. The Glass House within the garden is major
attraction, the flower shows are held here twice in a year. Venkatappa Art Gallery The gallery is a major attraction for the art lovers. The gallery houses the works of the great artist K.Venkatappa. The gallery has about 600 beautiful paintings as well as some of the exclusive collections of scenic displays. ISKCON The ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) temple complex is a magnificent structure, which is a blend of the Dravidian and modern architecture. The temple building is equipped with modern facilities like the multi-vision cinema theater, computer aided presentation theaters along with vedic library and a preaching library. Bull Temple The temple is dedicated to the sacred bull, Nandi of Lord Shiva. A massive monolithic statue of the sitting bull attracts a large number of visitors. Vidhana Soudha Built in the year 1954, the magnificent Neo-Dravidian building presently houses the Karnataka State Legislature and the Secretariat. The major attraction of the building is the huge sandalwood door of the Cabinet room. Cubbon Park Located in the heart of the city, the park was laid by Lord Cubbon in 1864. The park spreads over an area about 300 acres is a must visit tourist spot of the city. Aquarium The Aquarium is quite impressive and is the second largest in the country. Built in a well-planned manner, the Aquarium has a huge collection of a variety of aquatic life. The Aquarium is open all weekDay except MonDays. Excursions Tipu's Palace The palace and fort of Tipu Sultan are the must visit place in Bangalore. The palace built in 1791, was one of the favorite summer palace of Tipu Sultan. The architecture and the overall look of the two-storeyed wooden palace palace reflects the ethnic Mughal lifestyle. The intricately carved pillars, arches and balconies are the major attractions of the palace. Bannerghatta National Park The
park is located at a distance of 22 Kms from Banaglore city centre.
Set amidst the picturesque surroundings the park attracts the natural
history lovers. The park is home to wide array of fauna and flora. The
major attractions here are lion's safari, picnic corner, serpentarium
and pets corner etc.Ramanagaram Situated 49 Kms southwest of Bangalore, it is a favorite destination for adventure enthusiasts. The silk cocoon marketing centre is another attraction here. Nandi Hills The Hills located 60 Kms north of Bangalore was one of favourite summer retreats of Tipu Sultan. A 600m high rock called as Tipu's Drop offers the breathtaking view of the surroundings. How to Reach Bangalore The city is one of the major cities of India and well connected by air, rail and roads.
