Beach : Situated on the shore of Arabian Sea, the Juhu Beach is one of
the largest and most popular beaches of India. Juhu Beach lies 18 Kms
north of the city centre, and is is visited by a large number of tourists.
The nearby areas of the Beach, are one of the prime and posh localities of
Mumbai. Juhu houses the bungalows of Bollywood personalities. The beach is
also the venue of many Indian films. The southern end of the beach, is
lined by many Luxury Hotels and apartments. Juhu beach is not good for
swimming or sunbathe, but it is a perfect weekend spot. The beach is
dotted with several stalls selling the Bhelpuri, Kulfi and other eatable
items. Juhu beach offers horse and donkey rides. Other type of
entertainment along the beach are dancing monkeys, acrobats, toy sellers
and cricket matches etc.Versova Beach : The beach located north of Juhu is a home to Mumbai's biggest Koli fishing community. It is the nearby attraction for people who visit Juhu Beach. Chowpatty Beach : Situated in the heart of Mumbai, Chowpatty Beach lies at the top end of Marine Drive. The beach generally remains empty all through the Day, but a large number of people throng the beach in the evenings. The beach transforms into a virtual fair in the evenings. The stalls sell many types of Maharashtrain snacks like Bhelpuri. Chatt, Tikki, Kulfi and Paan. Other attractions include shooting galleries, snake charmers, monkey trainers and balloon sellers. Chowpatty Beach is the venue of many Hindu religious festivals. The Ganesha idols are immersed here on the last Day of 'Ganesh Chaturthi' every year. Marve - Manori Beaches : Situated to the north of Mumbai, these beaches are good for bathing. Marve-Manori Beaches are serene gateways to those people who want a break from the hectic and busy city life. The low hills along the Marve beach, offer spectacular views of sunrise and sunset. A ferry ride of 15 minute takes one to Manori Beach, which is more crowded than Marve and known for its wonderful all night beach parties. Madh Island Beach : The beach dotted with massive bungalows, is a famous picnic spot. The Island is the venue of most lavish beach parties held outside Mumbai.
